Gurusaday Museum
Gurusaday Museum, Joka, Kolkata has permanently shut down. The museum is closed for visitors and the place is in ruins laying in isolation. I was informed that after a legal case in 2022, the administration went away. No government authority takes care. The antiques and artefacts have been wasted and lie in ruins. It is located in Bratachary Gram, near 3A Thakurpukur Bus stand.
Parnashree Vivekananda Kanan
A big lake with a walking pavement plus park as it’s perimeter; that sums up Parnashree Vivekananda Kanan (park). Morning and evening walk by the young, elderly and the fitness freaks is a common feature. Playground for pre/primary schoolers is on the east side, very visible and well lit. Props and equipment were brightly painted and functioning; kids were enjoying themselves. Further down is the aquatics centre with facilities for kayaking and swimming (seasonal – though the water is a dense green).
Hamlet On The Ganges
The evening program was absolutely delightful. The singers, the band, and the belly dancers made the atmosphere so lively and enjoyable. We had so much fun together as a family, and it is honestly hard to describe how memorable that evening was. The Holi setup was also fantastic. Everyone really enjoyed playing with the organic gulal, and it created such a joyful and festive environment for all of us.
Garchumuk 58 gate park
Takes about 10 minutes by car to teach the deer park from Garhchumuk Eco tourism centre to this deer park. A small zoo is the main attraction. A few birds, three pythons, turtles, crocodiles, and various fishing cats, besides deer are kept in this mini zoo. There is an enclosure claiming “this place is reserved for Bengal Tiger”, but the local authorities do not have any clue if and when the tigers would arrive.
